Shout Clock is a stopwatch and countdown for iPhone that you control with your voice, made for training with your hands full. Say “Shout, go” and the clock starts; the app answers out loud while your music keeps playing.

Below the dial there are two switches: Shout talks to you, when the app tells you the time, how long is left and the final seconds; and Talk to Shout, when you give the commands with your voice.

What you can say

Turn on Talk to Shout, then say Shout followed by the command:

• “Shout, go”: starts; after a countdown ends, starts it again
• “Shout, pause” and “Shout, resume”
• “Shout, lap”: marks a lap and says its time
• “Shout, how long”: says the time left, or the time elapsed on the stopwatch
• “Shout, reset”
• “Shout, quiet” and “Shout, talk”: turn “Shout talks to you” off and back on

You can also say just “Shout” and give the command right after, within three seconds.

Frequently asked questions

It doesn’t understand my commands. Check in Settings › Shout Clock that the microphone and speech recognition are allowed. The first time, iOS may download the speech model for your language: it takes a few seconds online.

Which languages does it speak? English and Italian. The app follows your iPhone’s language, or the one you pick in Settings.

Does it work with the screen locked? Yes: while the clock runs, the app keeps counting and talking with your phone in your pocket.

Does my music stop? No, the app’s voice plays over your music.

Does it record what I say? No. Recognition happens on your phone and is never stored or sent anywhere. Details in the privacy policy.
